SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Social networking/ticketing company Ticketfly announced solid growth in both sales and clients for the year of 2011.

According to the company’s financial report, Ticketfly saw ticket sales increase by 16%, well ahead of a sectorwide increase of 2.7% and revenue growth in excess of 100 percent for the second year running.

The company also doubled the number of venues and promoters using the service. Among the new clients signing on with Ticketfly were the Capitol Theatre, Danny Zelisko Presents, Preservation Hall, Trocadero Theatre and Union Transfer.

“2011 was a fantastic year for Ticketfly. The 16 percent increase in ticket sales, on average, that Ticketfly clients experienced is in large part attributable to the platform innovations we’ve introduced and our focus on the consumer experience. The fact that these numbers far exceed the industry’s less than three percent growth clearly demonstrates the value we bring to our clients. In 2012, we will continue our focus on re-inventing the ticketing industry and maintaining our deep commitment to the consumer,” said Andrew Dreskin, co-founder & CEO, Ticketfly. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers

Ingrid Michaelson’s grassroots sensibility has worked like gangbusters: Her music, often about love and relationships, has wafted out of your television in handfuls of Grey’s Anatomy episodes (not to mention countless other series such as American Idol, Parenthood, and So You Think You Can Dance), in an affecting Google Chrome ad, and on VH1 as an artist You Outta Know. The New York Times marveled that she was “singing her way from obscurity to fame.” Billboard trumpeted her as the face of the new music business. NPR declared, “Ingrid Michaelson is everywhere.” As an independent artist she has sold over 750,000 albums and 3 million singles. With her new album Human Again, Michaelson throws a wrench in her reputation as the Crafter of Dainty Love Songs. One of her most gutting compositions from the album and first single, Ghost, is a hushed reflection on lost romance that unfurls ruefully from its opening line, “Do remember when the walls fell?” From there, Michaelson plumbs the breadth of human emotion. Ingrid Michaelson will be live @ the Guthrie on April 16.

Making music was the furthest thing from Scars on 45 co-founder Danny Bemrose’s mind until the professional soccer player broke his foot at age 21. Danny put down the
soccer ball and picked up for his father’s guitar. Those early years led to creation of Scars on 45, a quintet from Leeds, England, that combines the gentle melodic intensity of Snow Patrol or Keane with the added allure of co-ed vocals. Highlights on the group’s selftitled, 10-song debut include the gracefully propulsive Heart on Fire, on which Danny and fellow lead vocalist Aimee Driver play out a couple’s anguished conversation. On the lilting, yet melancholic, Give Me Something, Danny searches for some sign that there’s a reason to believe in a lasting love.
